Historic Local Church Honors Active Military, Veterans Past and Present with Bagpiper and Honor Guard Joining
May 28 Memorial Sunday Service.
Rev. Jim Powell at West Fork Presbyterian Church explains, "We remember our active duty service men and women in our congregational prayers every Sunday....... The sacrifices made by those who serve our country in defending our freedom and way of life cannot be forgotten." The names of each honored family member included as part of the remembrance ceremony.
Pipe Major Don Shannon will provide the bagpipe concert at the morning worship service. Originally from Northern Ireland, Shannon has over four decades of experience in piping and teaching bagpipes. The U.S. and Texas Flags will be presented by the Color Guard Team from the South Grand Prairie High School JROTC consisting of a 4-cadet team of two rifle bearers and two flag bearers.
